The stole

The stole

This project has taken me a bit of time. I feel like I’ve stretched myself a bit too thin with so many project ideas. I’ve decided to narrow my scope a bit once I master a few skills.

So, I’ve been working on a fur stole. Cape, mantle .. there are a few words for it. I did a bit of research to make it right and I’ve learned a bunch about working with fur. Sooooo, I hand stitched everything (which, fine. That was my preferred method when I was younger) so after I secured the ribbon I was excited to stitch on the silk. Using a much easier stitch. After I did the inside I felt frustrated with all the curves and my bulky piece of silk. Then I noticed it. How the hell did that happen. Did it get cut after I attached it? Did I actually not cut it big enough????

now here I am having to remove the silk and add a different piece. I may actually iron the ribbon too. I may just leave this project aside for the moment. As it’s getting warmer the need for a stole seems less relevant. It’s so pretty tho and the inner me wants the success of finishing what I started. The intention is to add leather straps. Which is something I really want to do more of. My mind is filled with ideas and idk where the pressure of getting them all done at this very second comes from  (socials probably) Anyways, I’m enjoying the process, bc I really do find it fun and rewarding. I just wish this setback didn’t happen
